MDMA-Assisted Therapy for PTSD

Dr Mat Hoskins is the Principal Investigator for a Phase 2 Open label study of MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD which will be starting later this year in Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. He is joined by co-therapists Dr Neil Kitchener, Dr Julie Dorey and Miss Chrissie Wilson. The study is sponsored by the Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), and American non-profit research advocacy group.

Recent research has found that MDMA-assisted therapy is a safe and effective intervention for severe PTSD, but it remains a heavily restricted drug. We hope that research carried out at Cardiff and at our sister sites across the EU will improve the quality of the research investigating this novel treatment approach.

Please note; we are not yet recruiting for this study.
